Finally Caught Up!

It feels so good to be caught up with the blog! My New Year's Resolution (well, one of them at any rate) is to be better about blogging things as they happen, or shortly after they happen, instead of waiting for 3 months before posting anything about them...

I'm also going to try to finish at least one of my books. If you're not a follower of my story blog, please, feel free to become one! I could always use the extra feedback. When my first book gets published, the original followers will all get a free copy! :) How's that for bait?

I've got a few short stories that I'm going to be putting up there, (there's one right now) and I'm going to be using it to announce publishing news, release dates, and other stuff like that when that becomes important. I'm going to be putting up some sneak peak chapters from a couple of the novels I'm working on as well. There are also polls that I use to find out which kinds of characters people like most (hero, damsel in distress, comedic sidekick, etc.) and what category of literature people like most (fantasy, romantic comedy, drama, etc.), so please click here and become a follower!

I can't wait to finish some of these stories that I have in my head. They've been running around in there for at least a year, some since I was in Jr High (and that was a long time ago)!

Here's to the new year, the determination of the moment, and steadfastness and motivation I'm going to need to get this done! Thanks to all of my friends and family that have helped me so far! You have no idea, and I can't express in this or any other language, how much it means to me to have you in my life and to have your help and support. I love you!

So don't forget to follow my story blog, and my beauty blog as well. That's where I put tips for skin care and make up, as well as information on why you need things like moisturizer. I don't keep up with it as much as I should, so I apologize to those readers that follow me there...

Someday I'll have enough time to do all 3 of these every day. Until then, I'll do my best and hope that everyone hangs with me.

Our Story

Tyler and Anna met at the end of February 2001. About 6 weeks later, they were engaged, and roughly 6 weeks after that, they were married. They had a beautiful wedding behind Anna's parent's church building on June 8, 2001. Then, on July 26, 2003 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Boise Idaho Temple. Tyler and Anna have been married for 8 1/2 years (9 years this June) and they are still falling in love with each other more and more each day.

Tyler really enjoys his career as a chemist working for Micron Technology in Boise, ID. His hobbies include playing World of Warcraft with his wife, reading, playing other computer/video games, spending time with family, and listening to music (he really likes alternative and techno).

Anna is having a great time as a stay-at-home-mom. Besides housework and the kids, she keeps busy with reading, computer/video games (including World of Warcraft which she plays with her hubby), cooking, sewing/craft projects, writing stories (she's working on a couple of novels right now), listening to music (she likes almost everything), singing, playing the piano, and doing things with a few friends. Most of all, though, she likes to spend time with family, especially her husband and kids.

Our Kids:

Tristan Tyler Hurst, born October 6, 1997 -

Tristan is Tyler's son from a previous marriage, although Anna calls him hers and genuinely feels like he is her son. He was 3 1/2 years old when Tyler and Anna were married. Tristan was able to be sealed to Tyler and Anna on July 26, 2003, when he was almost 6 years old. He is now 12 and enjoys being in Jr High, playing football and video games, and reading fantasy stories.

Nathan Thomas Hurst, born September 3, 2003 -

Nathan was born shortly after Anna & Tyler were sealed in the temple. They kept joking about racing the baby to the temple, since his original due date was in the middle of August. Nathan is now 5 and in Kindergarten, but reads at a 3rd grade level and recently received an award for his excellent math skills. He enjoys reading, watching MythBusters and playing all kinds of games. He is a love-bug, always wanting more hugs and kisses, and never running out of affection to give to others.

Logan Dennis Hurst, born December, 28, 2004 -

Anna calls Logan her surprise baby. He surprised them when they found out they were pregnant, and he surprised them by coming a month early as well. He also surprised them by flipping the wrong direction during labor and coming breech (the poor boy was born folded in half, bum first). Logan, who just turned 5, is a smiley boy, always happy and willing to make you laugh. He is in preschool right now and he will be going into kindergarten this coming Fall. He enjoys watching super hero movies, playing with his action figures, and spending time with his brothers and sister.

Lydia Anna Hurst, born May 4, 2008 -

Lydia is the first girl, so she tends to be a little bit spoiled. She is, for the most part, a very happy girl with lots of smiles and hugs to give out. She loves Blue's Clues and Superman, as well as anything pink, sparkly, or pretty. She also loves shoes. The shoe store is one of her favorite places to go. Lydia is usually a girly-girl. She won't go anywhere without her hair being done, and she has to pick out her clothes almost every day. However, she's always willing and ready to sit down and watch a football or soccer game, and she cheers and yells louder than the adults sometimes.
